Upington...

This is one of the reasons I love the people of this town! It seems they come up with weird and wonderful ideas. This is a few of the last couple of days again.

This is becoming quite popular lately, this was a freehand design and took about 15 minutes.

A Gemini, zodiac sign. Something fast to get me out of bed.

This was definitely one of the more interesting designs. I love Zombies, I love dead thing tattoos. In the spirit of Halloween this is what came from it.

Remember October is Halloween month, all tattoos to do with anything Halloween related gets discount till the last day of October. Hope to see you soon enough.

Olifantshoek Trip Reports

A single star gained 2 friends. Made it darker and rounded it off a bit more.

A freaky dragon done on his hand, the stencil came out quite crappy, had to fill the rest by hand, thankfully easy enough.
A tattoo I finally came around to finishing up, took a while to get all the feathers done but worth it in the end.

Kathu Trip Report!

On Friday we arrived in Kathu, much later than expected since we had about 4 road works sections of the most boring waiting sessions known to the civilized world.  When we finally arrived in Kathu we stayed with Piet & Ilize Friday and Saturday night, and I have to admit they know how to cook fish!

The first one brave enough to sit down,She started off with this naughty little angel. Only one done for Friday evening.
A touch up just to get the red, more red and smooth out the blacks. No idea where he got it originally but at least now the lines are so much smoother.
Rallies are built for loving here is more proof!
One of the 2 friends, travelling pretty much everywhere, came for her expansion as well.
A tiger done a while ago, now just a tad more colour put to it.
Another homage to his daughter, one of the more sensitive spots for heterosexual men. Chest is sensitive area for any man.
The first stage of the angel, lining done, next up is shading and finer details, honestly can't wait.
This is a cover up... Just forgot to take the image of what is was beforehand. Thankfully this totally covers up the previous tribal.

A Quick Fix

There is a reason I love doing this, and that is the diversity of people you get to work with, I have a certain preference, but it is great seeing so many people of so many walks of life interested in the thrilling pain of a tattoo.

I funky skull with enough attitude to make almost anything else feel less secure.

Another client from Springbok, lovely people, we sat down, threw a few ideas around and after a while this is what we came up with. The image is a tad dark, but normal due to the blood.

On the left is a small rose and on the right... Not a rose.

I am currently working on the updates of the Kathu / Olifantshoek trip, and it should be uploaded soon enough.

October Arrived!

Well this week ended up with some  really interesting designs,a few custom ones and a hell of a fix.

Well the dragon had some work done again, as you can see the wings and face got mostly work done for some depth, so the next step would be the details on the body and tail.

This skull definitely has an interesting twist to it. Though a word to the wise, this is NOT a lucky tattoo, bout three days later the guy got hit on his bike. Then again he only has a few minor scratches, so it MIGHT be a lucky tattoo ;)
One of the smallest geckos I have done in a while, this gecko fits halfway on a toe to put things into perspective.
3 Custom roses, this took 1 hour and 40 minutes including the breaks. I recorded the entire process and consider uploading a version that has been severely cut just to give you an idea of the process.
The tribal tattoo seems to have it's popularity still in check. With the variety of designs it is definitely one type of design that will never lose popularity.
This is another cover up, from an artist that had a shop in Upington, unfortunately his scarring made it difficult since scar tissue makes putting in ink quite challenging. This is the 1st step of the cover-up, it will have more shading and some colour done eventually.

I will be uploading a video for after-care, just going over the basics of what to do and what not.

PS: Since this is Halloween this month there is discount on all scary tattoos.
