Almost Spring... and have old trusty back.

The good news, old trusty, my black beast has been rebuilt from pretty much scratch! It is amazing to see what goes on with it now, it is heavier, more safety features and now kicks out a whopping 2.8 Amps and up to 22 Volts!

Friday morning a guy came in for a quick tattoo, he had one and expanded to a second character.
Not big, not much, certainly something to keep me occupied. Fortunately he knows what his characters mean, so that made it so much easier if someone comes in knowing what they want.
2nd Character

A friend of mine started off with his 1st tattoo, he wanted something small to get started with and see if he could handle the pain. After some research googling images and grabbing ideas here and there creating one larger idea. So after a few beers, some chit chat, he decided that he is sure about what he wants. This is only the 1st stage that has been  done, the scales are stage 2 and the shading will be the last stage.

Suffice to say, that for his 1st tattoo he showed much cojones.

A Wednesday Wedded inked couple...

She wanted a few stars, he wanted something different. I started off with his, and the more I got into the design the more I started enjoying it. Each and every line, flows into another. A quick glance does not reveal the actual design. I have to admit, this was one of my very enjoyable pieces.

Updating the Interwebs.

Here is what I have been busy with the past few days again.

Meet the funky gecko. Not your standard gecko, no this gecko was different. Took a while to get it the way I wanted it. Now everyone is happy, and the Funky gecko can stare any man in the face. est 90 Min.
The Funky Gecko
This is one thing I will never understand the popularity of crosses, but it seems people still cling to them. Unfortunately this photo does not do it enough justice, the line work is very fine, and when I say fine, fine enough that it took nearly 2 hours.
Lost Crucifix
This is what a passion looks like, he started off the majority of this work at someone else. Now it is my turn to  get those blacks, blacker. The edges smoother, and adding and expanding here and there.

Machines under some TLC & Maintenance.

It seems that everything runs on love, machines included. My machine is in for some maintenance and few upgrades and should hopefully be done by the the weekend.

For now I still have enough here for some smaller work, but I have learned that a failing power supply can really hinder your work. The next two weekends I will be in and around town, and only 28th of August I will probably leave to Kathu.

Those of you who have not done so yet, send me your art that you want imprinted on your skin, and I will have your stencils ready there ;)

Till later.

Secret Project #J45KF

Spent quite some time today hammering some ink in, and getting some of the line work even more perfect. Since this will take a while, I will only upload photos of everything once it is done, keep in mind it is a start of a sleeve so it might take a while.

Daniëlskuil Fun Run

11 to 12 August I am planning a trip to Daniëlskuil, on Saturday there is a one day fun run. I will probably be spending a few days there, if you are interested in an appointment, send me an email @ inkhammer@gmail.com.

I will confirm the dates on the 10th of August at the latest.

Gemsbok Rally 2011

It seems a rally has a few effects, wild sex, great parties and nine months later a young one to remind you. This guy came in and wanted his daughter's name done, Mikayla, which I have to say is a beautiful name, and now goes along with a beautiful tattoo. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the final product.

doing some good old skin prepping and applying a stencil.

One of the members of "The Mutts" based in Kathu, the loudest, hardest and most social of everyone there. Truly one hell of an experience.

Yep... vague memory, blame the beer and lack of sleep. Though if I remember correctly he came in for the touch up.

Talkative guy, not drunk, just busy. Another mutt :)
Feels like they were the main guys there for their ink.

With a skewed smiley on the one arm, and 3 thick stars on the other, I fixed it in such a way that it now has 3 stars on both arms and a smiley that can no longer be found. Really solid cover up.

Seems my wife really likes to go wild with the camera once there is no tattoo in sight...
Fortunately it does look better than my desk at home.

The start of a very... very... long tattoo!

Start of the tiger

Still making progress on hardly any sleep.
This is what loss of blood looks like after about 3 and a half hours. Could probably be quicker, but the face and paws really tend to suck you in.
 A better facial shot.
One of my alternative butterflies, blended a few colours and this is what survived.
The reason I got into this. Making women scream! There is just something in it. Though I think it was more nerves than anything else. The next day she actually came back and is looking into an expansion.
Now here is the touchup that I did on a few pics earlier, he looked drunk and I looked busy.

These are the pictures I actually remembered to take. If you were one one of the people there and I did your tattoo but forgot to take a picture please mail it to me, and I will upload it asap.
